This post was the 3rd story in the 2020 version of the Smeraldo blog. It did not appear in the 2017 or 2018 versions of the blog.

Everyone, you’ve not been harmed by the typhoon, right? I hope you haven’t.

The typhoon has suspended the interior construction of Flower Smeraldo. All the crazy days I’ve gone to the construction site to check on the progress have suddenly stopped, so my heart is empty.

To get rid of my emptiness, I went to the shop after dinner.

I also wanted to check if there were any problems with the windows or the interior construction materials due to the strong winds. There were no problems at all, so I worried in vain.

Because I could see the rain falling in the dark night outside the window, I became sentimental. (It’s not just me, right?)

So, I sat down in a corner of the shop, put on some quiet music, and thought about this and that while looking out the window.

But then, I saw someone with an umbrella face this way and walk over slowly.

I was surprised, but since I didn’t think they had bad intentions, I sat in the corner and watched the person.

It was a young man. He stood outside the shop and looked for a while at this place that has nothing.

I don’t think he knew I was inside. I wondered whether I should go and speak to him, but I didn’t dare approach him. I couldn’t see his face well, since he was standing in the darkness, and I couldn’t read his emotions well. He stood there for about 10 minutes, then left.

It’s a weird happening, isn’t it? Did he come looking for the shop that was here before Flower Smeraldo? Or, did he stop as he was passing by? I don’t know if maybe I was seeing things because of the typhoon. Think of this as a small episode I wanted to share with everyone.
