ARMY, What's Your Story? Submit Yours Now!

What's Your Story graphic2.jpg

While working on building this site, I had the idea to start a column where ARMY can share their stories. For example, has BTS inspired you? Helped you cope? Changed your life? How has BTS affected you?

In order to create a positive space where ARMY can share their stories, I’m opening a section of my blog for submissions. The idea is for ARMY to submit personal narratives of how BTS has had an impact on their lives. I hope that it can help share the positive aspects of our fandom, since there’s often a lot of toxicity going around.

If you’d like to submit, please read the information below!

What Can I Submit?

  • The BTS Effect is welcoming submissions of well-written personal narratives from ARMY about how BTS has affected their lives.

  • Your piece can discuss your personal journey with BTS, how they have influenced your life, what impacts they’ve had on your life, how they have inspired you, etc.

  • The goal is to publish positive stories that highlight the effects BTS has had on their fandom. However, your personal story may involve some negative topics (such as bullying, for example). You can definitely submit stories that deal with these issues and discuss how BTS impacted that part of your life.

How to Submit

  • Please submit your stories to bangtaneffect@gmail.com as a Google doc link or a Word file.

  • Stories should be around 500-1000 words.

  • Please avoid foul language, real names of any persons mentioned (unless you have permission), and your specific location (listing a large city or a state is fine).

  • Stories should be written in English.

  • You do not have to be a writer to submit! Submissions are open to everyone, but please proofread before submitting.

  • Please include how you want to be identified on the website. You can use your real first name, a nickname, a name you use online, or remain anonymous.

  • (Optional) Please include one link to your social media, such as a Twitter or Instagram.

Important Notes

  • I will not make any changes to your story except for small copyedits for any grammar/spelling mistakes.

  • You retain the rights to your story.

  • I reserve the right not to post a story if it doesn’t meet the requirements.

  • You are not required to do anything in exchange for publication (though I’d appreciate you sharing your post when it goes live, or any other posts on the site that you like!)

  • Submitting your story to the email address above indicates your acceptance of these terms and grants The BTS Effect permission to publish the story on this website and to link it on social media accounts.

So, what’s your story?
